What sort of "good problems" you had after WLS

Recommended Posts

I went on a trip this week..and I knew I'd be doing a lot of walking so I took my most comfortable furry sketcher clogs. They've always been comfortable for long days, well since I've lost weight they're now lose and as a result they flopped around and I have two huge blisters on the balls of each foot! So good problem with bad results...but still good!

I've been reading it isn't uncommon to have to change shoe size when you are losing weight, especially if you carried any weight in your feet. I totally didn't expect that, it was the one clothing item I thought I could indulge in while losing weight! Now I know better. I haven't lost enough weight to change shoe sizes yet but I'm prepared for it now... LOL I hope you find some much comfier shoes, Skechers makes some nice slip on ones!!

Buying clothes and shrinking out of them before I get to wear them. It's a bummer, but hey, it's a good problem.

Sure... blame the weight loss.

Good luck,

Exactly...I suspect just wanting to be a "cool kid" is more likely 😋

Not knowing my size when I go shopping

Picking things way too big for my current body

Thinking I'm going to stay the same size long enough to buy something on the pricier side without regretting it

I'm still actively losing at only 3 months out and my body has already changed drastically, while some of the changes excite me some are making me even more self-conscious than when I was at my heaviest. Body dysmorphia is real.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
