I cannot imagine going through a revision surgery. Thanks, @LindsayT. I'm glad you're doing well. I am def struggling with this decision for some reason. I probably just don't want the more invasive surgery. But I'm still on the fence. Way to go on rocking your weight loss!

learn2cook 592 Posted June 25, 2023 I had bypass because my GERD was so awful. The surgery corrected the hiatal hernia and GERD so I’m very thankful. I do dump, but it’s simple carbs, which are very easy to avoid. I consider the dumping a stealth WLS weapon that keeps me in line. I am very grateful for it! I actually asked my surgeon for it and he didn’t make any promises, but when I told him later he made a fist pump. Hee hee! 1 New To This23 reacted to this
SleeveToBypass2023 2,676 Posted June 30, 2023 I had the sleeve and loved it.....until I didn't. I lost 116 pounds in 10 months. I was working out 5 days per week. I was doing weight training, core and strength training, and cardio. THEN I started having major GERD symptoms. They were insane. I was put on 80mg of Nexium daily and still had break through GERD. Also has gastritis and esophagitis. 4 endoscopies and 1 colonoscopy later (and upwards of 30 polyps removed) I was scheduled for my revision from sleeve to bypass. I just had it done on the 28th. And while the recovery SUCKS majorly, I know once I'm past this, I'll have my life back. Oh, and I never had any reflux or GERD before, which is why I chose the sleeve to begin with. 1 learn2cook reacted to this
