Hazeleyes, sorry I haven't written lately, My father had a heart attack and had triple bypass surgery. After he got home he got an infection and his blood pressure dropped so low they had to give him several transfusions. He is now in a Rehab center and it is slow going, so I have to drive my mom back and forth to see him. Its been a real rough couple of weeks. I hope your doing well.. Keep in touch.... maybe we could exchange email addresses sometime so we don't have to keep posting here.

Kim

Yikes, Hazeleyes and Kimberly J, I am in Beavercreek too! I ws banded on Nv 3. by Dr. Anderson at KMH. I've lost 15 lbs and all is going pretty well.

I would LOVE to go to a support group or connect with my fellow B/C bandsters.

She is one of my favorites, however I am sure it will be like starting over again, having to relearn moves I have forgotten! I am so siked I may go Saturday, just to see how long I can hang out in there!! Well I am having great success with my band when I exercise! When I don't I stay still!! In a couple weeks, I am planning on a fill!! Hopefully! Take care all of you newbies!! Please stay in touch!! Next time if anyone needs anything please shoot me an email on here!! Hi all its Kim! I live in Beavercreek and am looking for help! I was banded on Sept 30 2008 and I have only lost 10 lbs. I am physically challenged, hurt my back and left knee and am having a hard time exercising. I would like to find someone to actually hang out with, walk the malls and other light exercising activities. I hate exercising alone and I hope with someone else doing this with me that it may be easier. So if anyone wants to help a girl out let me know!

Thanks

Kim

Hi!

It's been a long time since I've posted. I am in Beavercreek too. I just had surgery again for a complication (dilated pouch) and am on liquids again but I am feeling a lot better.

Do you Beavercreekers get together? I would love to compare notes.

I am not in Beavercreek, but Englewood.

To Kimberly J. - What I have found very helpful...is exercising in the therapy pool at the YMCA. It easy on the knees, I can do weight resistant exercises in the pool...And it is GREAT for toning.

I have notice that I have the mother's apron (flabby skin on the tummy) - but totally I will tone it up with crunches!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
