Mine told me that he didn't care if I took Flintstone Vitamins just take them. LOL The nutritionist winced when I told her what he said. She told me the Patches don't absorb as well and has me taking chewables. But then I had gastric bypass.

Sometimes it's hard for me to get those 4 horse pills down everyday. I may try the patches at some point.

they seem to work for some but not for others. I've never tried them because I figured I'd be one of those for whom they wouldn't work. Some clinics seem to be OK with them, others advise against them (probably because they don't work for everyone)

The local clinic I originally discussed the surgery with did not recommend them, but i had surgery elsewhere and there is nothing in the paperwork about them from the Mexican surgeon. My own nutritionist seems okay with them, but may redirect after labs we do after first six months. I only use the B12 Patches right now— but my daughter (no surgery) is low Iron, and hates the pills- so we are trying them on her. She seems to notice a difference. Time will tell, and I’ll update when i know more.

I am ordering Patches to add to some capsules and chews I'm taking. I don't like pills, some days they will not go down. It's all in my head, I know, but still... I'm doing chews and want to finish what I have and get another alternatives. I feel the patches will help me get to a routine. 30 days and I will re-evaluate. VSG May 15, 2023

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
