Hilsbarijourney23 1 Posted June 1, 2023 Hi. I had sleeve yesterday and was released to home this afternoon. I currently drinking 2 oz of Gatorade zero with Protein every 30 min and will switch to broth shortly with unflavored protein. Any advice to get this gas out? How do I know when to take the med RX for stomach cramping. I’m not sure if it’s gas or new stomach adjusting. Thanks all :). Scared but excited for this journey. The gas pain is intense. 1 NettyD reacted to this
NP_WIP 274 Posted June 1, 2023 Congratulations! The best thing to do is walk for the gas. The only rx I got for the stomach was omeprazole which I took every morning per Doctors advise.Sent from my SM-S916U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

Arabesque 7,414 Posted June 1, 2023 Yep. Walk, walk, walk. You can also try marching on the spot, lifting your arms & legs up & down, slow deep breathing. Surgical gas rises up behind your lungs putting pressure on nerves causing that shoulder pain. The gas is absorbed into your lungs & you breathe it out hence the walking & other movements to get you breathing more deeply. Heat packs can help with any discomfort.
