bkdavis 0 Posted May 17, 2023 I am 14 days out from VGS and have a stinging burning pain at the site where the stomach was removed. Is this normal?
Jeanniebug 473 Posted May 17, 2023 Yes, it's quite common. Take your Tylenol.
matt917 17 Posted May 17, 2023 I’m 2 weeks out as well and yes I have the stinging feeling near my belly button. The NP said it’s from swelling and advice I take ibuprofen 4 hrs apart from Tylenol.

There is a much higher risk of damage & ulcers forming in your much smaller tummy. As you have a sleeve you may eventually be told you can take the odd NSAID by your surgeon but highly doubt not this close to your surgery. I was told I could after two years but only half a dose & never on consecutive days. 1 Jeanniebug reacted to this

I had something not long ago (when I was 6-months out) - for the life of me I don't remember what it was, a headache or something. Tylenol wasn't helping. I asked my surgeon if I could take ibuprofen. I was advised that I could take one dose and I had to take omeprozole with it. Thankfully, it did the trick! But, yeah, they were really leery about letting me take the ibu. Edited May 19, 2023 by Jeanniebug 1 Arabesque reacted to this
matt917 17 Posted May 20, 2023 Thanks for explaining. I’ll try not to take ibu. Hopefully it gets better in the next 2 weeks. I bought a compression tank and it seems to minimize the pain when walking or getting up. 2 Arabesque and Jeanniebug reacted to this
