Amerime 34 Posted July 11, 2023 Hi. My surgery was 4 days ago, July 6. I am doing well, the healing appears to be going well. I still have pain at the incision spots but it is manageable. I am tolerating Protein and liquids well. I am excited to show my kids that being around and healthy for them and myself is priority one. I am also looking forward to wearing some of my old clothes! My husband has been very supportive throughout the process. My children were apprehensive because it's surgery, we have been pretty open about it as a family. I have not determined how I will approach the topic with my friends. I go back and forth between, not telling them at all. I am the only obese friend so I do not know what value it will bring. My sister had a gastric bypass 15 years ago, her input has been invaluable and reading this forum has been super helpful. Thank you all. 4 WanderingLass, missy irene, NYCxCoco and 1 other reacted to this

Chewchew46 16 Posted July 11, 2023 How many days do you have to do for your pre- op. I have to do 14 and I started on July 2 I may have started a day early lol. But I’m on day 9. It’s been a struggle I notice I don’t have much energy I’m always tired.

dslay 2 Posted July 11, 2023 Hi all! I have lurked for a long time, but I have my appointment with my surgeon tomorrow (July 12) and should be scheduling a surgery date. Hopefully before the end of this month, but maybe beginning of August. Trying to get it done before my daughter goes back to college so she can drive me since my husband has to work (saving vacation days for mandatory shutdown at Christmas). Good luck to everyone scheduled for this month! 1 RedE2goAimee reacted to this

Maybe the nerves will set in tomorrow? Unfortunately my procedure isn’t until late in the day… lots of time to think… All the best on your surgery day! Looking forward to hearing how you're doing. Keep us posted. Hang in there! Keep the calm going. 😊

Zombie_tea 10 Posted July 11, 2023 Ok, surgery in about 3 hours!!! I’m all packed, scrubbed with the pre op body wash and thirsty. I'm a bit nervous, but more excited. I hope the pain isn’t too bad afterwards, but whatever comes, I’m 100% certain of my decision and looking forward to my journey onwards. I’ll let you know what weird and wonderful things lie beyond… 3 Midwest Grateful, Amerime and RedE2goAimee reacted to this

Does anyone have any pointers for me? I am 12 days post-op. They also allowed me to have sugar-free popsicles, Jello and pudding. That felt a little more substantial at times. Keep your eyes on the goal. They are shrinking your liver to make surgery easier. You got this! 1 1 Midwest Grateful and RedE2goAimee reacted to this
