Jnpxo2 35 Posted May 6, 2023 How long do you have to have your 40 BMI to qualify. I recently hit mine in March. And I’ve been doing this entire process since then. Just had my endoscopy yesterday one more dietician appt and one more physc. All other tests have been completed. Do you think BCBS NC will have issues with this. IVe been obese for well over a year really my entire life.
Elidh 240 Posted May 6, 2023 Quote How long do you have to have your 40 BMI to qualify It’s up to your insurance and/or the surgeon. There’s no one answer - they all differ.
BigSue 1,392 Posted May 7, 2023 I hope you didn’t intentionally gain weight just to qualify for surgery. 1 qtdoll reacted to this
Fred in Pa 234 Posted May 7, 2023 Hi there! Most insurances have policy papers that detail the requirements of coverage and associated criteria to be met, I found the below link that may help BUT I’d call your provider and ask for the policy and make sure it’s the correct one for you. https://www.bluecrossnc.com/sites/default/files/document/attachment/services/public/pdfs/medicalpolicy/bariatric_surgery.pdf I hope this helps! I did phertamine I did weight loss shots I worked out I ketod just kept coming on. When I went to the doctor I went thinking I had some kind of diabetes or hormone issue she referred me to bariatic
