I had my sleeve surgery done late Wednesday and still feeling a lot of pain despite being on opioids. When can I expect the pain to go away?

I gained about 5lbs of Water weight since surgery. Hoping the swelling will go down.
At what day could you comfortable do a 10-15 walk? Walking still seems really painful now

I had the surgery 2 weeks ago. The first week was the hardest. After that it got tolerable, and by the 2 week mark I only have tenderness at the incision sites. Last week I started being able to walk about a quarter mile comfortably, so I am getting there. Good luck!

Nice progress! I’m hoping this coming week goes by quick.

The first week is tough. I was able to get up and walk to the restroom and around the house a little before sitting back down again. By week 2, I could be up and walking for 10-15. Give yourself the downtime you need right now and don’t stress too much. You’ll be up again in no time so long as you don’t go beyond the limits your body is telling you to stay at :) good luck!

I felt pain for about a week after, specifically around the incision next to my belly button since that's where they pulled the stomach out from & the muscle soreness was pretty crazy. I wonder if that's what your feeling?

Everyone heals & recovers differently for many reasons. You may find you won’t need your opioids (or as many) in the next day or so & over the counter, non NSAIDS, will be enough. Start slowly with your walking & increase as you’re able. Walking around your home is fine if that’s all you can mange at first. Doing several short walks is just as beneficial as doing a single long walk. Or do some seated exercises for your legs & arms (raising your arms & legs up & down, foot & wrist flexing, etc.) if getting up & down is difficult at first.

Of course if your strong pain persists into a second week or your opioids aren’t managing your pain, contact your surgeon.

All the best.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
