amazon halo - what are you switching to

Recommended Posts

So if you have the Amazon halo you have probably gotten the dreaded email that they are discontinuing it by August 1st, what are you switching to?

I really prefer to stay screenless, as with my line of work I don't need the distraction during meetings or the buzzing of my arm. For context I got 128 text messages between 6 pm and 9 pm last night So that also will be a huge battery drain.

I love the sleep tracking and the steps with the satisfaction of earning points for movement and taking points away for sedentary behavior.

I use android phone if that matters. And I really would rather not go to the fitbit as thats what I had prior to my halo and i got a third degree burn on my arm when I wore it to a 3 day rock festival in the middle of one of our lovely Carolina summers :)

I have looked at garmin but haven't found anything that screams take me home (except the pixel watch, but with my phone usage that battery doesn't stand a chance...)

I had a similar issue with an old version of the FitBit, I believe it was a Versa model. If I wore it for more than a day or two, it would leave welts on my wrist and become incredibly irritated. I switched to the Sense 2 and have not had any skin irritation at all. The charging nodes are completely different on this model - they are flush if not very slightly inset, and smaller, which seems to have made the difference for me. I have FitBit premium and LOVE all the data. My husband has a Garmin (one of the "rugged" models) and really likes it as well, but he says he misses the touch screen of the FitBit.

Similarly, I get an obscene amount of messages and notifications and I like that I can set "downtime" hours on the FitBit that turns off on wrist notifications.

I love my Apple Watch SE but I see you are an android user, so you'd have to jump the fence to an iPhone I believe to be able to use one.

i am intrigued by the solar on the garmin, as it would be handy to have one less thing to charge when we camp
