I think we should give the poll a few more days after the 26th because people are pretty busy with holiday preparations and celebrations. Maybe make it through the 30th? What do you think?

I can't help you out on that one Jim! I'm not computer savvy. LOL But I appreciate you & Red pulling us all together as a group. I'm SO excited. I'm ready and today is going to be a better day of control. Have a great day!

I'm no help either. I didn't realize that when you make a poll that you put an ending date on it. I guess we'll just leave it or we could make another poll, but that might be too confusing. Ask a Moderator if there's a way to "edit" your poll.

I'm not gonna lie... I want January Jewels to win. I'm guessing it probably won't get the male votes because it is a bit feminine. I just like the whole alliteration thing and the "JJs" abbreviation and such. We'll have to see what the results are at 8:46pm on Dec. 26 though.

JJ's would be so cute....we can even have a nice jewel as part of our signature like the tenacious tens or the november nymphs...

I was thinking the exact same thing 4jin. That's why I want that name to win because it's very "versatile". I like "Drop the W8 in 08" but that's more a slogan someone can put in their sig line as opposed to a group name. That could apply to any month of 08.

Well, it looks like we have about 38 people with surgery dates and 27 votes so if you haven't voted yet, please do so! I can live with any name--honest!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
