Salad dressing ideas?

Recommended Posts

What about hummus? There are so many different flavors. I'm not sure the fat content right off. Also, you can mix dry ranch packet with fat free Greek yogurt. Both of these options would give you some extra Protein.

You can also blend fruit with a bit of olive oil if you want something less creamy. Strawberries, mango, blueberries, or raspberries are all good options.

My doctor says no more than 3 grams of fat in any serving and I'm allergic to Vinegar.

Any suggestions for dressing a salad?

I would try substituting the vinegar for fresh lemon or lime juice in recipes. You might have to adjust the recipe a bit, so taste until you like it.

A variation of the ranch with yogurt is you can put ranch and cottage cheese in a blender, thin with milk until you like the consistency.

I use the Walden Farms dressings. They're not exactly the same flavor but they're close.

The Greek yogurt with ranch tasted pretty darn good to me (and I don’t even like Greek yogurt but love ranch) I found it a little thick to spread it out as a dressing, though. Anyone have ideas to thin it out.

You could add milk to it and maybe more of the ranch mix if needed to adjust the flavor.

The original recipe is great for a veggie dip.

I like to use southwest spicy mustard, it even makes riced cauliflower tolerable!

I’m not a big fan of mustard but I know alot of people are. If it makes riced cauliflower taste good then your on to something. lol.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
