cjones75 4 Posted April 10, 2023 How the pre op diet going for you? Are you liquids only or do you get have vegetables like some do?
Mmartin556 6 Posted April 10, 2023 I’m on all liquids. So far so good. The first days I really struggled with the Protein Shakes. I’m a huge texture person and I had trouble with the chalky/powdered part of the shakes but now I’m going strong. What does your diet look like? 1 Bluphiguy reacted to this
cjones75 4 Posted April 10, 2023 All liquid as well. I’m struggling with the sweetness. I’m not a fan of artificial sweeteners. I’m on day 2 of my 10 day. No coffee either. That’s hard
trishrivs 2 Posted April 12, 2023 My surgery is on 4/20, diet of mostly shakes with two cups of non-starchy vegetables daily. I hate the taste of the shakes, so have probably only been able to drink 1.5 - 2 each day. Can't get enough of the vegetables, so may be going over the two cups a bit. This is hard. 1 cjones75 reacted to this
cjones75 4 Posted April 12, 2023 Trishrivs it is hard. I’m halfway through mine liquid only. I’m struggling with stomach pain. I think it’s from all the artificial sweeteners. I don’t drink much of that stuff on a regular basis. How far along on pre op diet are you on? What shakes are you using?
trishrivs 2 Posted April 12, 2023 I honestly bought every kind costco had available! Fairlife, Premier Protein and Orgain. I also have Clean Simple Eats powder that I've been using. They are icky sweet and all too chalky for my liking. I started pre-op last Friday, but cheated a tiny bit on Easter - nothing crazy, but had some chicken and a couple of shrimp. I just want something more substantial, like tuna, an egg, or chicken - I'm done with the artificial stuff!
cjones75 4 Posted April 12, 2023 Yeah the artificial stuff is really hard for me to. Just keep reminding yourself of why you are doing it.

I had my surgery today and everything went well. I’m staying overnight and minimal pain. Looking forward to feeling 100% as it’s real hard to shake the lethargy from the anaesthesia. 1 cjones75 reacted to this

So sick of these shakes at this point. 1 Mmartin556 reacted to this
