KarenO716 5 Posted March 18, 2023 Before surgery I could drink the premiere Protein Shakes with no problems. Since surgery they make me sick. I'm in the process of ordering PROTI 15 drink mix since that's what hospital gave me & I could tolerate it. In the meantime is there anything else I could try that's similar? Arabesque 7,414 Posted March 18, 2023 Our taste buds often change temporarily after surgery & things we used to enjoy taste or even smell disgusting or upset our sensitive healing tummies. Try bone broths, consommés or cream Soups (just strain them to ensure they are perfectly smooth). Blend a high Protein yoghurt to make a yoghurt drink - add as much milk as you need to make it thin enough to drink. Protein waters are also useful. Often you can tolerate a different brand or flavour of shake.
Sigh 196 Posted March 18, 2023 I found diluting my Protein Shake with milk/almond milk thinned it down enough so it didnt cause that heavy feeling in my stomach… may want to give that a try as well
Jen1974 1 Posted April 9, 2023 I think there is non flavor Protein Powder you can add to food and I think drinks, I’m going to look into that. Sometimes my stomach gets cranky when I have stuff with flavoring.
