Some of us are coming up on the 3 week stall. This article is very educational on why and what weight loss looks like moving forward.

Although it’s been miserable and eating is still a chore and everything tastes gross… I’m been cleared for Soft foods and my doctor is thrilled with my current results.

Down 39 lbs currently which he said is way ahead of schedule! This is with a 2 week pre op liver shrinking diet and now exactly 3 weeks post op tomorrow.

Starting weight was 357.
318 this morning. That’s pretty exciting!

I am SO TIRED. Is anyone else not able to shake the fatigue? I'm just over 3 weeks out, on puree and eating more calories - roughly 500. I usually get my Protein goals in. liquids are hit or miss, but I normally hit that or close on most days. Maybe dehydration? Not sure. But, man, I could sleep all day.

Yes I'm sleeping so much Lindsay. And I feel pretty weak. I still have nausea every day. My post op appt was today and I just couldn't go so thankfully we did it by phone. He's ordered blood work for me as my nausea at this stage is abnormal and wants to see if somethings going on. He's also sent me scripts for 2 new meds. He says my fatigue is due in part to rapid weight loss. I've lost 11kgs or 24.2pds in 2 weeks which he was surprised to hear. I'm to to stop my Vitamins for 2 weeks to see if that helps. The nausea was so bad this morning I threw up. I'm really thirsty which is good as drinking then doesn't feel like a chore.

My 18yo asked me this morning if this was expected to be feeling like I am? Heck no lol. I anticipated a lot but not 2 weeks of nausea and to be repulsed by many foods.

I'm sorry things are not going as planned. I hope they find out what's going on. Keep us updated.

Stupid phone, I am not losing like you ladies 😢 but I am happy for you both. Think I have turned a corner and back on the mend. Time for the tiredness to go away.

Being tired is really my biggest complaint. Besides being over the Protein Drinks. Which aren't going away anytime soon. The only medication I'm on is my Vitamins, Constipation medication, and omeprazole for GERD. I do use a C-PAP, but that's not going to cause problems. It's so hard being productive when I'm so incredibly fatigued.

Howdy all, just found this forum. Had my Bypass on 5/15, so a little over a week out.

I see some complaints about being tired, I was pretty tired my first week, couldn't make it through the day without a 2hr nap. On day 8, I didn't take a nap and have been feeling pretty good since then. Before my surgery, my doctor said that very low energy was VERY common and effected people differently. He did say that after 3-4 weeks, pretty much all of his patients felt good and were back to normal/better energy levels. So I hope you guys start getting some energy back soon!

First, congratulations on your surgery. That's exciting.

I'm at 3.5 weeks and the fatigue feels like it's getting worse. I'm trying to get more calories in, but I'm still averaging around 400 calories per day; even being on puree. My team wants be closer to 500 and I'm struggling to get there, despite trying. I have noticed that I'm having more apnea events (I have sleep apnea), so I wonder if that doesn't have something to do with it.

Ok, I need to know what this thing is. I am fairly certain I am going to need this in my life!

I thought y'all were talking about the Ricotta Bake, but the recipe that Lindsay linked didn't say anything about spaghetti sauce (I am assuming that red stuff is the sauce).

Hopefully for you (and the others experiencing similar stuff), this is just your body getting used to the whole host of changes being thrown at it. I know it sucks, but just remember that it is temporary (and that I will say a couple of prayers for all of y'all).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
