But I am struggling to get all my Protein intake in. How's that going for you? Struggling... I am just done with the gross shakes. I have had so many in the last few weeks... I think I don't like chocolate anymore (at least the fake chocolate). So every day, from the moment I wake up until I go to bed, it's a hunt for Protein. But to be honest, I'm just not hungry, but I know I need to get in protein, and I am failing at that. I had to go back and get fluids twice... Plus, I've had a sinus infection back to back over the last two weeks. If anything could happen, it has. My incisions are healing nicely, and my pouch feels fine... it's all the other stuff
dskg 20 Posted May 4, 2023 +1 about the Protein issues. I had my surgery a month ago and now I am on to normal foods. But my nutritionist wants me to maintain a high protein diet. I don't eat a lot of meat, so it's really difficult.

I am also not hungry but I know I have to get in the protein. I’m on the entry of stage 3 (can add other things in after a full month from surgery). So without actual meat things, it’s a circle of shakes, eggs, cheeses and yogurt and I’m over it. I mixed up the Protein Shakes because I was also sick of chocolate. I have the Core Power in vanilla and strawberry banana to add variety. Also just got Protein 2 O protein water to break up the creamy stuff. It’s hard getting in 60grams at this point. trishrivs 2 Posted May 4, 2023 Struggling with shakes as well. Have started eating the Icelandic yogurt from Trader Joe’s - 18g per serving. Has anyone tried the Ohana Protein Shots? I see them advertised here, and am wondering if they’re worth trying to help hit the Protein goal.

I mix cottage cheese in with my Protein Shakes and chair seeds and that helps me hit my protein goal a lot easier 1 BabySpoons reacted to this

The last couple of days have been easier though. I am getting about 50-60 protein and 50 fluid. (last week I had days I was lucky to get 24 ounces of fluid in a day) I was almost 15 lbs down since surgery date as of yesterday morning. I woke up and weighed this morning and I was up half a pound. I am assuming that is b/c I am finally consuming the amount of fluids I should be (or closer to it) . I have got to stop weighing in every day.
SherrieAnn 2 Posted May 11, 2023 Hello Katt, The gas pain for me was soooo bad. It felt like I was in labor for hours. I found a heating pad helped along with an electric massager in those high pain areas that really helped the gas move and releaved the pain. I feel like I could not have survived without it. BabySpoons 617 Posted May 22, 2023 My surgery was April 3rd and for 5 weeks I was only sick once during week one. Everything was so good and I've had same thoughts that I've read some others here express.... did I even get the surgery? I feel no restriction. No nausea. No hunger. No problems. Too good to be true. Week five I was put on normal/rest of life food plan. I'm now feeling hard restriction. Which is ok except for the nausea. That's hard to deal with. I went back to soft foods for a bit and got sick again today with a Breakfast I've had more times than I can count. 1 soft scrambled egg and 1/4 C of cooked spinach. The uncertainty of what's doable to eat and what isn't every day is starting to stress me. I understand it's trial and error at this point but I'm almost afraid to eat now. Next step...I might need to go back to full liquid if need be. Hopefully this won't hinder my progress. I figure how can it hurt to allow more healing time for my tummy?
