What types of exercises did yall do at 4 weeks p.o?

I should have noted that I still had 35 or so staples holding my insides in and the outsides out. Every movement, no matter how slight, was a new experience in pain.

I was able to move more freely shortly after 4 weeks. We enjoyed going down to the strip and people watching while we walked.

Good luck,

Tek

Walking.

Someone on this forum recommended Leslie Sansone Walk at Home (search YouTube for Leslie Sansone to find lots of free videos) and I am so glad I gave it a try. I started with 15-minute videos and I still use these videos daily, sometimes 2 hours or more (multiple videos back-to-back). This is a great program for people of all fitness levels. I also like the fact that some of the group videos have body diversity — I found it very encouraging to see people my size in the videos when I was just starting out.

mostly Water aerobics and swimming because I was too big at the time to do much else. Oh yea - walking and riding stationary bikes, too.

Walking. Please check in with your surgeon so you can be cleared for exercise. Most people dont start until 6 weeks after the surgery.

Agree with @Possum220. Check with your surgeon. They often have different requirements as to what & when you can do certain exercises and it may also depend upon your recovery too.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
