Getting gastric sleeve tomorrow

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone. I am getting the sleeve tomorrow. I am so nervous. Any last minute advice? Thanks.

Here’s my advice: trust your medical team, stay calm, and think about all that you’ll gain rather than what you’re giving up! 2 years post op here and down 180 lbs from highest weight. I’ve gained more confidence, the ability to be more active, good health (good A1C score, no more sleep apnea, no more high blood pressure), a better relationship with food, etc, etc, etc… Good luck tomorrow and the days to come.

Good luck tomorrow! Follow your medical team’s instructions. Don’t be afraid to ask for pain or nausea meds if you need them.

I hope you're feeling better! Here are a few last-minute tips that may help:

  1. Follow your surgeon's pre-op instructions carefully, including any dietary restrictions or fasting requirements.
  2. Pack a bag with comfortable clothes, toiletries, and any other essentials you may need during your recovery.
  3. Get plenty of rest the night before your surgery.
  4. Have a trusted friend or family member accompany you to the hospital and be prepared to stay overnight.
  5. After your surgery, be sure to follow your surgeon's instructions for post-op care, including taking any prescribed medications, getting plenty of rest, and avoiding strenuous activity.
  6. Stay positive and focus on your goals. Remember, you're making this change for your health and well-being.

Good luck with your surgery, and feel free to reach out if you have any other questions or concerns.

Good luck! I had surgery 2 weeks ago and everything is going well. :)))) ... Stay positive and have a supportive person the first days after surgery. It is too much new information to handle. Medicines, meals, activity (walking).

Hi Alex, I see that you received a gastric bypass 20 years ago. Did you have to do any other gastric surgeries in the past 20 years? How is your health and do you have any regrets? Thank you so much!

I had Lap-Band 20 years ago. I then had the removal of my Lap-Band and revision to Gastric Bypass in March 2018 and Gastric Bypass reversal due to a lower bowel blockage in June 2019. I regret getting the Lap-Band and using a surgeon for my Bypass that wasn't the greatest (to be kind.) Thankfully, I've kept almost all my extra weight off, and my health is great.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
