Quetta89 49 Posted February 15, 2023 I received a call from my surgeon's office stating my surgery was pushed back to my original date March 22nd. I was so prepared to have the surgery on the 1st. Now I have to prepare myself to go through pain for my birthday which is March 26th.Sent from my moto g power (2022) using BariatricPal mobile app 2 Victoria_Faith and Summermoose reacted to this
NettyD 93 Posted February 15, 2023 Why was it pushed back? Look on the bright side you have a few extra weeks to get your mindset right for this life changing surgery? 🥰🥰
Victoria_Faith 30 Posted February 15, 2023 I'm so sorry! It must have been so disappointing to get that news. There are so many reasons that this might have happened, but that's not really important. Something someone told me a long time ago is that life is 20% what happens to you, and 80% how you react and respond to it. Try to put a spin on this, that you'll get your getting a bonus birthday! You can call it your "belly birthday"! Hopefully by your special day you'll be on your way through recovery without much pain. My doctor told me that a lot of people are up and about and doing just fine within a week. I hope that's true for you! Based on your previous post I would definitely take this time to talk to the nutritionist and settle on a solid plan for your liver shrinking/pre-surgical diet. Anticipating an all-liquid diet is probably giving you a bit of anxiety. I can assure you, it's not as bad as it sounds, and maybe you and your team can come up with an alternative plan. Good Luck! 1 Quetta89 reacted to this

catwoman7 11,220 Posted February 16, 2023 if you mean pain as in physical pain, you may or may not have that. I didn't have any - in fact, I wondered if they even did the surgery! Pain is all across the board - some have it, some don't - but most of us seem to have little to no pain with these surgeries. But if you're one who does, they'll send you home with pain meds. Just try to keep ahead of it and you should be fine. It'll last a few days at most. 1 Victoria_Faith reacted to this
Merri Beth 96 Posted February 16, 2023 I can relate my surgery got pushed back not for that long but i was disappointed too. I had to stay on the liquids longer and it was tough but so worth it! Hang in there you got this 1 Quetta89 reacted to this
Arabesque 7,416 Posted February 16, 2023 You may find that by your birthday you have very little pain. Many find by day 4 they need no pain meds at all (prescription or over the counter). I didn’t. You may just have a little lingering discomfort but not pain. Just sit back, relax & have everyone run after you & treat you as a Queen. I mean it is your birthday! I like @Victoria_Faith’s suggestion of a belly birthday. All the best for your surgery & have a happy birthday. 1 Quetta89 reacted to this
