Jeanniebug 473 Posted January 29, 2023 (edited) Congratulations!!! Yes, it all sounds normal, to me. Edited to add: if you still haven't passed gas or had a bowel movement in a couple more days, call the doctor. Edited January 29, 2023 by Jeanniebug

vsg2410 41 Posted January 29, 2023 It’s normal to feel swollen after surgery and the IV fluids. If the doctor is not concerned about your BP then it’s probably fine, just change positions slowly when going from lying to standing. There’s a lot of burping the first few weeks as you get used to taking smaller sips of Water and learning not to swallow air. Every office has their own guidelines regarding Constipation, but it is very normal to not have a bowel movement for the first couple of days post op. catwoman7 11,220 Posted January 29, 2023 my blood pressure normally runs about 90/60. No one has ever said anything about it - other than a nurse saying I have the BP of a teenager (and I'm in my 60s). I took that as she thinks it's great!

If you're asymptomatic, there's no such thing as too low of a blood pressure. So, as long as you feel good, the lower the better!
SkinnyMingo1408 357 Posted January 30, 2023 I had low pressure 100lbs ago and it's even lower now (91/60) and was told by my cardiologist that as long as that's the only thing going on then it's fine. My hubby worries about it but professional doctor has said all is ok. As far as the bloated goes that's the joy of post-op laparoscopic surgery. All I can say is walk, walk, walk. It will help your body absorb the gas and then last but not least the constipation... personally I would give it a week. Your body needs to shake the anesthesia and the shock of having everything re-routed. If it's really concerning you or causing you discomfort, call your doctor. My personal experience was I started out very slow and far between with my BM's and they were HARD, Like concerns I was going to pass out on the potty from straining HARD. I added colace to my daily medication and I have an almost everyday bowel movements since. I know others that use benefiber or Miralax. You just have to see what works for you. Pouchify 10 Posted February 1, 2023 Have you tried taking Miralax daily to help with the bloating? Lower blood pressure usually is a sign on dehydration. I would try to get more fluids in. It took me 5 days to pass gas, but I burped a lot. I also take gas x twice a day to help.
AnxiousMom 8 Posted February 5, 2023 Hey hey! I'm 3 days post op. I was in SO MUCH PAIN and still get sharp gas pains today. Not as bad at all but the first two days oooo it hurt. I finally started passing gas about 3 am this morning. Still haven't passed BMs yet though either. Everywhere I read it is normal given our intestines are still waking up from being drugged up! Walk, drink, and wait [emoji3590] *~☆AnxiousMommy☆~*

SkinnyMingo1408 357 Posted March 8, 2023 I think it depends on what you do. I'm fortunate that I teach so I did it beginning of June and went back in the middle of July.
