I couldn't find the post, but what all did you take with you to the hospital?

You don't really need much. I took a robe, chargers, phone, small wallet, spare undies. I went to the hospital with a dress and sandals, and used the same when I was discharged. Took a small backpack to put my clothes when not wearing and to take any documents, medicine cups and spirometer back home.

DON'T pack a lot. Wear the gown they give you so if there's spillage or anything like that it's on their stuff and you can get a clean gown anytime you want. I wore 1 with the opening to the back and 1 with the opening to the front at the same time. That way when I went walking no one was getting a free show and I didn't have to worry about keeping it closed.

Phone charger with extra long cord, maybe something to read. They have stuff for you to wash your body and hair with that will get you by the 1 or 2 times you shower there. Wear home what you wear to the hospital just take clean panties(and have some spare) for when the cath comes out and slippers because they will want you walking around. Take everything you can extra home with you. You really don't need a lot in the hospital

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
