mammawdd 8 Posted January 21, 2023 Forgot to mention that I am 60yo. Are there any older gastric sleeve patients out there?Sent from my Pixel 6 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 1 2 dalhousieDream, Corine1014, Nema51 and 1 other reacted to this
armartin98 106 Posted January 21, 2023 Hello, I'm 61 and had my sleeve surgery a little over a year ago. Everything went really well. I went home the next day. I was never in pain. I'm so happy I had the surgery. I've only lost 45 lbs., I'm not losing as fast as I want but I feel so much better and I'm happier. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. 7 SKH13, DaisyChainOz, DeeBat and 4 others reacted to this

Elidh 240 Posted January 21, 2023 I was 68 when I had my sleeve. My BMI was not high enough to have insurance pay for it, so I self-paid at great expense! I only wish I had done it years earlier - I hadn’t realized it was an option! 3 Kpatten11, dalhousieDream and mammawdd reacted to this
ImsexyandIknowit 48 Posted January 22, 2023 I will be 59 in April and I had my sleeve done March 2020. Just like some of the other replies I wish I would of done this sooner. Lost 120 pounds now I am moving forward to get plastic surgery going. Best of luck with your journey 💗 1 2 Ugotthis!!@55, SKH13 and mammawdd reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted January 22, 2023 I'm in my 60s and had my bypass at age 55. There are lots of us who've had surgery in our 50s and 60s (even a few in their 70s) 4 mammawdd, Ugotthis!!@55, DeeBat and 1 other reacted to this
Arabesque 7,414 Posted January 22, 2023 My hand’s up too. I was almost 54 when I had sleeve surgery. Almost 4 years out & been doing well. Pretty stable with my weight too. 2 Kpatten11 and mammawdd reacted to this
ksgypsy 52 Posted January 22, 2023 Hi there! I'm 63 and had my RNY at age 61. I've lost @120 lbs and my only regret is that I didn't do it 5 years earlier! Even at my 'ripe old age', I'm having plastics next Wednesday! 1 mammawdd reacted to this

summerseeker 2,236 Posted January 22, 2023 Me too. Had to pay for myself and never had the money till I was 62. Wish I had the money sooner but I feel so healthy now, it hopefully has added years to my life 5 Tomo, DaisyChainOz, mammawdd and 2 others reacted to this
SpartanMaker 895 Posted January 22, 2023 I had surgery at 58. Looking of global demographic data, it would appear that the average age for weight loss surgery in most Western countries is between 45 and 50. Asian and Middle-eastern countries tend to have a younger demographic. 1 mammawdd reacted to this
