Have you tried the free version of MyFitnessPal? That might be enough to start with. Baritastic is another free app that is user friendly and has a good front end design.

I've used MFP extensively but just short of paying for it.
I fell off the wagon due to severe back pain and medicating with booze and carbs. I've gained 30 pounds in a year and a half.

I went back to MFP but found a lot of the features are now behind a pay wall.

I might just buy it but I'm thrifty.

That’s a pity. Maybe try a few free apps first then decide.
Good luck and you got this ❤️

Is there a way to set macros on this app, I'm playing with it now but don't see anything on that.

I use the free version of it, you can set your own macros under settings. I have my macros set to as close as I can to my Dieticians requirements. It forces you to use 100% so if the numbers don't work out you have to adjust to get there so i adjusted by increasing the Protein requirement and just know what I need to hit everyday.

There were more free features but they seem to have been moved to only the pay availability now. LAME, I am not paying, too many free ones out there to pay for the APP.

I have been using Baritastic, it is great and free.

But I recently signed up for the 1st Phorm App, it's worth the money and has a daily workout and trainers to guide you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
