I Hate My Band!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

I have lots of bad gas problems too. Gas-X strips are great.

I am lactose intolerant so maybe you have developed that too.

I also now put Fiber sure in my coffee or tea everyday and still have semi hard stools, I think a lot of the probelms with gas are that we aren't going like we used to.

Now for being able to eat anything, that is puzzling to me since I have the complete opposite, I can't freekin eat anything.

Maybe some counseling with a therapist can help you deal with problems.

Call your Dr. and his assistants or nurses and talk with him aboiut your problems. If they don't have any thing to help you with I would find another Dr.

Good luck!

Hey bandster2007, how are you doing? Did you get your fill? I had one the same day and definitely have some restriction. I hope life is looking up for you these days.....

yes, things are better...if i can quit getting these dumb winter colds. lol..it was 23 degrees here on friday and yesterday it was 76. ......that a big difference. darn arkansas weather.

ok. i got my second fill, and when i did he made me tight. i was already sick but getting better. then saturday, i got sick again..fever of 102, body aches, etc. it feels like the flu, but i had a shot. so i wasn't able to keep much down this weekend. liquids were to hard to swallow, i slimed them back up.

so i haven't really been eating crap. for example, yesterday i had a small piece of ham. the rest liquids that i could get in earlier in the day (at night, i feel sicker, so i think my stomach tightens up), then on saturday i had a piece of fish. that is it.

so, as of today i have lost 8 lbs. which is just from me being sick. i am definately tighter though.

how are you doing?

Hi Bandster , I just read your whole thread today and I feel so bad about all you have gone through. I feel sorry for your brother too and I'm sure I would've made the same mistake and co-signed for him. I can't telll you how many times in my 67 years 'ive sacrificed to help someone else out and got bit in the butt for doing so.....But, you know what, I wouldn't change a thing. That's how I am and I like myself. If he gets his act together, you'll know you helped. About the gas:

Be sure you aren't constipated, take gasx or something simular, lay off sugar and artifical sweetners, and make sure you aren't lactose intolerant. The worst thing for me is the sugar alcohols they put in candy etc in place of sugar. Blows me up like a balloon. I wish you luck and hope you feel better by now. Sharon

thank you sharon.

things have calmed down quite a bit since my original post. my brother never did really apologize, but you are right. i was doing it to help..and i don't know that i could have told him no.

as for the gas, i quit having gas about a week ago. oddly it was about the same time that i took a z pack for a chest infection.

thank you for you tips though. i've been drinking the mess out of crystal light, and before i wouldn't even think of drinking aspartame, but i do now...i don't like that i do, but i guess it is better than liquid calories.

I just read your post today and wanted to let you know that I work in the medical field and sometimes phone calls don't work. My suggestion (completely annonymous of course:)) is that you call and if that doesn't work, just show up. Say "I really needed a fill and was in the neighborhood--I was hoping you could fit me in!" 99% of the time they will work you in if you are already standing there--good business! Maybe this will help you for next time or help someone else!

I didn't lose any weight the whole 1st year after surgery. I thought I was doing something wrong until I finally got my surgeon to listen to me. He checked my band under fluro and discovered the tubing from my port to my band was split. When he injected the dye it went everywhere. I ended up having to have surgery again to fix the problem.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
