Jeanniebug 473 Posted December 8, 2022 Hey Everyone! So, I am 7-weeks post op, robot-assisted RnY gastric bypass. I have recently had some increased diaphragm pressure and discomfort. No real pain, but pressure and it is quite uncomfortable. I'm able to eat and drink. I haven't had any nausea or vomiting. I'm going to reach out to my surgical team, but I wondered if anyone else might have had this, too. It's possible that this was caused by wearing elastic-waist pants that were too snug - I did that for a couple of days in a row. Thanks! pintsizedmallrat 473 Posted December 8, 2022 I did, and it turned out it was due in part to acid reflux. Do you take an acid reducer? 1 Jeanniebug reacted to this

But the thought did cross my mind that it might be something like that. Pre-surg, I had SEVERE reflux.
Jeanniebug 473 Posted December 8, 2022 So, the surgeons PA told me to go to the urgent care. She said she didn't think I necessarily needed to drive all the way to the ER - 45 minutes away, but she wanted me to be seen. She was concerned about pulmonary embolism. Well, urgent care took my vitals - all were fine. I really don't think this is a lung issue - I think it's a tummy issue. Urgent care couldn't do anything else for me. I'm not going to go sit for 6 hours in the ER, just to be told that everything is okay and to go home. I asked the PA to refer me for imaging. My hope is that it's just a pulled muscle, or something. I've been doing a lot of heavy lifting the last week.

Jeanniebug 473 Posted December 9, 2022 The PA has scheduled an upper GI series for me at our local imaging center. Hopefully they call me sooner rather than later to get me scheduled.
