Does anyone have Vitamin suggestions? I am 5 weeks out from surgery. I used Bariatric Fusion soft chews and the bar is so high now cause it is honestly like candy. I thought of subscribing to it and getting 4 packs at a time but it isn't the best pricing, although if needed I will do it for sure. I initially got them for the first month so I wasn't dealing with massive tablets right away. This week I implemented tablets again and OMG I regret it immediately. I had the WORST nausea since getting this procedure. I was so close to vomiting, my heart was accelerating, and I was shaking. I took it with yogurt in the morning. I haven't had anything happen to me when it comes to my stomach even the first few days after surgery. I am avoiding tablets and capsules for now. My doctor also told me to not use gummies due to the sugar. I am open to gummies if they are sugar free. I would like to eventually buy in bulk but wanted to explore my options before I commit to the soft chews.

Does anyone also have suggestions for calcium citrate? Those tablets are even worse! I used caltrate chewables but was reminded it was the wrong one! Let me know what you think folks!

I do the ProCare 1 a day capsules. Every single multivitamin chewable (soft chew, tablet, Gummy, ALL of them) upset my stomach. The only one I've been able to take that has not made me sick is the ProCare one a day capsule. I also take their Calcium - I do the soft chews of those, and tolerate them really well, or the chocolate when its available.

Nausea after taking Vitamins is pretty common. Try taking them across the day so for example if you have to take two Multi Vitamins, take one in the morning & one in the evening. Make sure you take them after you eat not with. Iron is often a cause of nausea so if you take a multi with iron & a separate iron as well you may benefit from dropping the iron alone or reduce it to every second day but check with your medical team first.

I found a spray Vitamin D & K - simply squirt under the tongue so super easy to use & one less tablet to swallow. Maybe look at Patches too & avoid your tummy altogether.

I've used Citrical Petites and my levels always come back normal. It's a lot easier to get because you don't have to special order it from a website, plus, there's generic versions of it too. The only thing is you do have to take two tablets FOUR times a day, and you have to crush them and either dissolve them in a beverage or mix them in food.

If you want to avoid any possibility of sugar, Celebrate multivitamin capsules are excellent. You can buy them either on this site's store, or directly from their website https://celebratevitamins.com/products/multi-complete-45?variant=7642367197231. They are based out of a town only 30 minutes from me, so I tend to trust them a bit more than most brands since I know where they're coming from. ;) Good luck!

Make sure when you take your Vitamins that you are not taking them WITH food but rather AFTER food. I used to take them with the sip of my Protein Shake in the morning. If I took it before I got all the shake in my stomach it would come right back up. I also used the ProCare Health one a day. They are reasonable and you can set up auto shop so you don’t really have to think much about it. I got mine one bottle ahead so when I opened a new bottle I just made sure I had received the next one already and I always had.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
