Rebekah S 4 Posted November 12, 2022 Yes, Covid testing before inpatient surgery appears to be standard practice in Northern California. Not just for my WLS but two of my kids had spine surgery in the last year and they had to get it as well.
mkellee 47 Posted November 21, 2022 Hey y’all! I’m here in Kentucky and ready to get my sleeve on 11/15! I was just curious if any of y’all had to go through the dreadful Covid testing before surgery? My dr hasn’t informed me of anything but I was wondering if anyone out there had to do it? Thanks !!!I had to do one when they originally scheduled my sleeve in August. Ended up with hernia repair instead. It was MASSIVE, 1/3 of my stomach was in my chest. My sleeve is now rescheduled for December 14th. So I imagine a few days before I'll have to go get another covid test. The coordinator schedules it.Sent from my SM-S901U using BariatricPal mobile app
Lexco 0 Posted January 16, 2024 (edited) Hey! Exciting times ahead with the sleeve! COVID testing might vary, but it's becoming common before surgeries. Worth checking with your doc for peace of mind. By the way, have you considered those at-home monkeypox test kits https://aichek.com/product/monkeypox-virus-antigen-rapid-test? Just a thought for extra health assurance. Edited January 16, 2024 by Lexco
