It’s my 5th surgiversary (and I almost forgot to post about it). I wish more people from when I joined were still around but most are long gone. I am grateful to everyone that sticks around and recorded their progress long term, so I am trying to do the same.

I’m certainly glad you’re still about @GreenTealael & your very wise advice. ❤️

Thank you! I’m trying my hardest to stay out of the advice business these days. I just want to relax in my VET stage. 🤣

Awesome job! You are an inspiration to many of us, so I'm thrilled you're still here and posting!

I wish more veterans stuck around too. I'm hoping I can, but life has a way of taking us all to different places.

Thank you! I get why people leave. After a while there’s not much more to say (unless you have a complication) but I stick around to keep myself honest. I update my weight every single time it fluctuates.

I love this! I never thought about it that way, but it's a great motivator!

Wonderful pictures. Wonderful post. You look great. Happy 5th anniversary. I am glad you are here to always share your wisdom and experience. Although I've been fighting the good fight for a very long time, I have stayed to myself all this time until just this past year. People like you make it easier for introverts, like myself, to get out of our comfort zone and share a bit.

Thank you for sharing. I love that you eat a wide range of foods, and seems to be everything. You don't deprive yourself. (From what I can tell by this post) I really believe to be successful we need to eat everything but learn how to eat it correctly. This was the changing point for me.

Congratulations on your success!

Thanks!
I do eat a range of things but honestly I make a lot of substitutions when possible like: regular bread when eating out but always Keto bread at home (never was going to give bread up), regular fries when out vs airfryer fries at home, and yesterday I ate grilled chicken tenders vs fried tenders because the calories made more sense (even though I wanted the fried ones). Oh and I am dead serious about picking Desserts over salads when the calories are on par 🤣 so I do watch calories (and sugar) more than what appears to be the “healthier” choice.

That's perfect. I do the same thing, but I am much earlier out. haha

Have you tried Tyson air fried chicken strips? They are a great substitute for fried and taste just about the same without the grease.

I have! I went through a phase with these (maybe a year ago 🤔) then I had a hard time finding them so I started making my own (quickly grew tired of doing that) I might do it again next year.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
