penthesylaya 18 Posted October 28, 2022 Hi! I am having my bypass on 11/4. Very nervous & very excited. Looking forward to a new, healthier life. I am one week into my liquid pre-op diet, and I have to admit, I am struggling. food that I don't even like is looking real appetizing right now! Needtogethealthy 7 Posted October 28, 2022 @Penthesylaya - I totally understand how you’re feeling. I feel since I’ve received the approval I’m trying to eat all these foods that honestly not even interested in eating that just knowing that it might be my last time eating them in a while. I’m totally nervous too I start my liquids on the 11/1 - here’s to us 1 penthesylaya reacted to this

Old Salt 64 Posted October 28, 2022 53 minutes ago, Needtogethealthy said: @old salt, 11/8 Congratulations! Have you started your pre opt liquids yet? Yes. 3 Protein Shakes and a 4 oz Protein meal (steak, chicken, etc) plus veggies. And of course the suger-free Jello and popsicles, and a lot of Water. Finished Day 4 today with no problems except the first day kind of felt dizzy/tired. To me it is very similiar to the many diets that I have experienced before so it is not that big of a deal for me. I also got pretty good in the past with intermittent fasting so I am holding off on my 1st shake until around noon. As with many of us, we are experts in losing weight but terrible at maintaining that loss. I am more concerned about the initial post-op phase diet so focusing on preparing mentally as well as getting my supplies. I am going into this with optimism. I greatly benefited being prepared and looking forward to the positive results last year when I had my Knee replaced. I am taking that same approach to this surgery. Hoping all have a successful journey! 1 Mcflytx reacted to this
Needtogethealthy 7 Posted October 28, 2022 @old Salt - that’s the same way how I’m feeling. 😧it’s the postop I’m more nervous scared I may make a mistake or something. I’ve been trying to purchase as many Soups and Protein Shakes as possible and also make sure I have the right Vitamins. and staying away from drinking with a straw and waiting to eat 30 minutes before & after I drink something. I’m so nervous. I start my liquid diet on the 1st. 1 Old Salt reacted to this
Needtogethealthy 7 Posted October 28, 2022 @Melissa56 - me too I only really have to do two days of liquids but I decided to start on the first because I have a friend who did the surgery and she said that it helped her to do it a week before. 1 1 Old Salt and Melissa56 reacted to this

I’m so nervous. I start my liquid diet on the 1st. I believe if you have a pre-op time schedule to go by it will help. I've attached a copy of a sample schedule they provided me for Week 1 & 2. I was told that 4 oz will take about about 15 min. to drink. Maybe some of these folk who have alreay passed this phase can chirp in. How many Vitamins do they have you taking the first 2 weeks? All I am required is the chewable Bariatrc Multivitamin 4 times a day and a sublingual B12 over the counter 1 time a day. A November to Remember!
