mybabydaddy 0 Posted December 17, 2007 How can I tell if I am restricted or stuck? I just had my second fill, and if I eat slow, I can eat quite a bit. The problem is that I get stuck so easy now. PB and Slime...the whole thing. If I am getting stuck often, does that mean I have the right restriction?
lovekatz1975 1 Posted December 18, 2007 I can't answer your question, but I can tell you I go through the same thing as you!
socalgal3 4 Posted December 18, 2007 It depends on how often you get stuck and what you are getting stuck on. If you are chewing thoroughly and eating slowly and getting stuck, you may need a slight unfill. If you are eating too fast or getting stuck on typical band-trouble foods like bread, then you may just need to avoid that food, chew better or slow down. Good luck! NM Sunshine 1 Posted December 18, 2007 I have the very same question. Some foods like yogurt go down fine. But other foods send me to the sink, PBing, sliming or throw up. meat seems to bother me and this morning fruit was a problem as was scrambled eggs. I think that I am not chewing enough at those times and also eating before I feel hunger pains. The problem may be a full pouch.
VegasGrace 1 Posted December 18, 2007 Restricted and stuck are not the same thing. You can get food stuck by being too restricted. I'm well restricted and slime often but haven't had but 2 bonafide stucks since surgery.
NM Sunshine 1 Posted December 18, 2007 Before my last fill I would double up in pain. It wasn't often but a few times. Never slimed or PB until this last fill. Also I could eat a lot then, but, cannot now. That must be the difference?
cQQlgirl 0 Posted December 19, 2007 This is a question I asked some time back. I am exactly where you are. If I chew slowly and thoroughly, I can eat much more than I believe I should be able to if I were truly at good restriction. I think we are CLOSE. Another fill or so should get us to that place where a little food will do the job. I'm concentrating right now on the bandster eating habits...trying to get those to become natural before I hit that true 'sweet spot'. I have a fill (4th) a week from friday and am pretty sure this will be closer to where I need to be. I haven't lost any weight but I'm patiently waiting. Good luck! Learning how to eat with the lapband is the major thing we do while we prepare for the 'sweet spot'. Hey, that's a bit like having a baby :heh: LOL gives me more readon to name my band. I'm calling her Slim. Also after all the months watching the scale go nowhere it is finally dropping down. :whoo:
