I am using EAS Myoplex Protein Shake, with Water, several ice cubes and sometimes additional flavoring. I.e. if I use chaocalate I might add banana, almond, etc. With vanilla the sky is the limit. The ice cubes in the blender make seem like a real milk shake.< /p>

What it is:Myoplex Carb Control powder delivers the advanced blend of Protein, Vitamins and minerals—with 3 grams of net carbohydrates. Net carbohydrates are calculated as total carbohydrates minus dietary Fiber and minus sugar alcohols. See Nutrition Facts panel for carbohydrate information.

Myoplex Carb Control is high in protein and does not sacrifice great taste for great nutrition.

  • 25g of quality protein
  • 25 vitamins and minerals
  • 3g of impact carbs (varies by flavor)

Serving Size: 1 packet

Best of luck to all on Pre-op diet! We are now on the real journey!

I called the insurance today. Spoke to the prior approval rep that answered instead of requesting to speak with the other one I was previously....this one took her time instead of rushing me off the phone but had the consult with the other one to see who the reviewer was. Came back and told me found out who it was but can't say when I would hear back as she does not know what her caseload count is or what dates she is working on at this time. but told me I was more than welcome to call as much as I wanted for a follow up. I told her I would. She was even alarmed with the submittal date and todays date being 21 business days and 29 calendar days.

back to more praying...at least it was a helpful conversation....somewhat:huh2:

4JIN:yes, I am also happy you found someone that took their time. You and me both my not be Jan Bandsters but atleast Feb is less than 14 days way!

Finally, the request appears on the website that I have access to 24 hrs a day but it only tells me the date they got it and status (pending). And you can bet your bottom, I'm pulling and refreshing that site every hr on the hr.

yep, we'll just keep praying that something happens quick...

Question...how long do you have to be on liquids b/4 surgery?

My doc is not going to require me to be on a preop. Liquids just 72 hours I believe.

At least you can go online an see something...mine doesn't even have that as an option. I have to call them. But I am going to everyday from now on.:)

Thanks Chrisann,

I think a member of the newyears knockouts can only nominate me...! I would definitely be honored!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
