Hello, My name is Desire’e and I am new to the group. Just needing a little advice and hopefully a sense of encouragement. I am 7 weeks out from my revision surgery from gastric sleeve to gastric bypass. I have only lost 27 lbs so far, and I have followed the rules to the T!! Anyone else gone through this after a revision?

27 pounds at 7 weeks seems good to me. Congratulations. I just had the sleeve but from what I understand the process is very similar for a revision and Stalls are pretty common. The first one USUALLY being right around the third week. Sounds like your is just arriving a little late. They can last a short while and the best thing to do is to stay the course but stay away from the scale. It will start moving again soon. Hang in there.

I don't know what your starting stats were but 27lbs is pretty great. Keep in mind you don't want to lose weight too quickly. Congrats on your loss!

Desire I feel the same!! Yesterday was 6 weeks, I’m in a stall at 25 pounds and I know I shouldn’t compare but we’re humans and it’s what we do. I am following to a T as well and I’m seeing others at 6 weeks or less eating sooo much more or such different things than what I’m eating, nearly same starting weight, and losing much more. Right now I can’t have any fruits, veggies, carbs, etc. I keep hearing to eat more calories but I guess diet culture has taught me against that for so many years it’s a hard concept. I’m doubting myself a lot which I know I should be proud of 25 pounds but I get in my own head. You’re not alone, and now either am I and there’s some comfort in that so thank you!

I'm down 17 lbs and starting week 7. Been in a stall for about 3 weeks( feels longer) but I keep reading it is ok. And the journey is a long road . I'm happy so far. I keep getting stronger after feeling very week and low energy( 1000 calories a day will do that to you ) I have increased my calories recommend by my nutrition specialist. 1200- 1300 is ok see how I feel. . it has helped. I have had no issues with my wounds and feel I am healing very well. I have added more walking and light stretching excise with super light weights. And feel better and better. So reading your post I believe you are doing super. What I learned is not to over think it. Consistency is our best tool. The journey to better health is a marathon the weight loss is a bonus. Plus the little wins add up . I can actually reach my shoes with out a shore horn, pants fall off with out a belt. ( Today I cut a second hole to make belt smaller) !! Whoo hooo!! Wishing continued success and good health!!! Cheers from Toronto Canada!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
