I had my surgery on December 4th. My biggest problem now is feeling so tired! I usually like to stay up late and watch t.v. Several nights last week, all I wanted to do was go home and crash! Are others feeling this way too? will it go away?

It will go away, you are taking in fewer calories and that has an affect on our energy. Also, different people react to anthesia.

I was the same way, I laid around on the couch (I took 3 weeks off work - my choice), energy came back when I started my mushies and eating more Protein.

Best wishes.

I probably went back to work too soon, but felt like I was really needed and didnt' want to take too much time. Besides, all I do is sit at a desk. But I sure do watch the clock and look forward to 5:30!!! It helps too when I have busier days, they keep me occupied. My boss is out of town today and tomorrow, so the workload is really light (not something to complain about, huh?) makes time go by really slow.

I know we get a week's vacation after this week, and I am really looking foward to it!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
