Hi,

Had my surgery on 5/18/2020. I've been able to maintain between 188-191. However, I started adding the THRIVE packet to my my Protein Shake in the morning. And have lost 6 pounds this week. My question is, is this program ok for us 2 years post op? The monthly consists of a patch, a pill for energy and the Vitamin packets. I am 5'3 my starting weight was 310 my current weight is 184. Thanks

Never heard of it, but this sounds like a question for your doctor?

Is that the MLM Le-Vel? I think they are the ones that have Thrive. I would say ask your doctor, but personally I wouldn't support anything from an MLM.

Just looked. Yep, it's Thrive by Le-Vel: https://le-vel.com/

Thanks for your response, but it doesn't matter to me if it's MLM or from the moon at this point. If, it works and helps me to stay on track without health risk, then I'm for it. Being over 2 years out maintenance and weight management is a constant for me. I have not been able to get below 188 since January. I'm at 184 today, Whew.. They weren't kidding when they said its mental as much as it is physical. The mirror is my biggest enemy still sometimes. Thanks again and I wish you well on your journey..Take lots of pictures..😍

I mentioned it's an MLM because they have a terrible business model, they have had several lawsuits, and they drastically overprice their products. You can get the same kind of products for a lot less from reputable companies. That's all I meant by it. I hate to see people get sucked into MLMs. You start as a customer and they will eventually try to recruit you to sell because that's how they make their money. Anyway, I do wish you all the best, and I hope you continue to see results.

If I were you I would ask your team about this. I have heard people who swear by the product. I just don’t know if it is good for us or if it is just overpriced Vitamins. Personally if I considered it the one I would ask would be the NP for my team. She does a ton of research into stuff like this so she can give informed answers. If I think of it I will ask her at my next appointment in November because now I’m curious.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
