KimA-GA 540 Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) I am a high BMI girl (over 60 ) but have changed my diet, worked on eating disorders and just tried to change my life this year. Been doing pre op Keto diet since late august waiting on my surgery date. Down 70 lbs this year so yay there.. My NSV was my wardrobe changes! i was buying mostly size 34 shirts ( a few bigger). I saw a shirt on Amazon that i liked that was biggest at size 28. I ordered it for “later” after surgery- but as a lark i tried it on and it fit quite well!! I wore it yesterday and got asked for the first time if I had lost weight. Guess clothes that fit make a difference;) I went and ordered four more size 28 shirts. If they fit too, I am going to purge most of those size 34 and higher and never look back! I am trying to get below 60 BMI for surgery (somewhat a stall right now, but that’s ok - i am staying steady) but I am really enjoying this victory!!! I love when the scale reflects the hard work, but the non scale victories are even better. My pre surgery bmi was 63, so I completely feel you there. You got this was 73.2 BMI january of this year… now down to 61.34. i have also shrink my belly from 72” to 59”… I can fit in places/cars soo much better… (Now if only my face fat would reduce!) the scale can be a stubborn thing, but staying the course or working harder has paid off each time the scale didn’t budge! 5 kcuster83, Arabesque, Tomo and 2 others reacted to this

You're doing so well!!! You're already much lower in weight and bmi going into surgery than I was. You'll be awesome afterwards if you're this disciplined now. I can't wait to see the changes in your life and body and health once you're on the other side of it. Keep going!!! 1 KimA-GA reacted to this

I’m just starting this journey waiting for a date most likely will be December. I am trying to do a trial run watching what I eat and drinking tons of Water but everyday I feel like I need to eat some things that I know I won’t be allowed to eat for a long time if ever . I mean how many “last suppers “ can one have lol. Anyway, I praying I can be disciplined enough to do this. Anyone else cheat before surgery and before the actual liquid part begins. Please tell me I’m not alone. 😒 1 Sd14810 reacted to this

[emoji19]I had a few meals before that I wanted to make sure I got my "last meal" of before my surgery, I just made sure I kept my portions smaller then normal.... and added healthy to it when ever I could Sent from my SM-G996U using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Giginc reacted to this

In retrospect it was kinda silly (just more weight to lose in the long run) because I am able to eat absolutely anything I could pre surgery (smaller portions of course). Some people have one or two things they do not tolerate the same post surgery but I have yet to see anyone say they feel like they are missing out on those foods. It’s like if they make you feel sick you no longer crave them i guess. Of course It won’t totally derail you or anything to have a last supper or the such but there is really no reason to overdo it either. 2 Giginc and Tomo reacted to this
blackcatsandbaddecisions 852 Posted October 3, 2022 Congrats on the pre surgery weight loss! I had a lot of weight to lose so I am very grateful I lost 50+ lbs before surgery. It might not make as big a difference for those who have less than 100 or so plans to lose, but for those of us who are 150+ lbs to lose it can make a huge difference. Plus it can make surgery safer for us. And the amazing thing is unlike all other diets this pre op weight loss actually stays off! 1 1 Sd14810 and KimA-GA reacted to this
