I have a friend who is a teacher and she has been told that her insurance does not cover WLS. Has anyone else appealed this or anything to get insurance to cover the surgery?? Any suggestions welcome. Thanks.

I have heard that it is difficult to say the least if there is an exclusion to the policy.. most people self pay in that case..

(and fyi school employees in Georgia have bariatric surgery covered now.. I have GA teachers insurance via my husband who is a district employee)

If bariatric surgery is specifically excluded in the insurance plan then there really is no way. I have Florida blue and its specifically excluded here in Florida. I ended up paying cash

My aunt is also a teacher by the way* so as far as insurance for wls - I have to say its almost impossible to get one that covers her. However, I am a law student and am used to researching every new case and source I come across. So recently I had to write my assignment analyzing legal dodges and I found that it is possible to rename this assurance and move it to another article in such a way that wsl becomes assured.

I also have a relative who is a teacher. She, too, will not be able to fully achieve this. It is very difficult for teachers in general, an underestimated profession in fact. To take an example from me, I remember in school not to write about Water pollution, I used https://samploon.com/free-essays/water-pollution/ for this. It's not really fightable, but they have to keep an eye on every student. I think this is the most difficult profession and all privileges should be paid to them.

Please write down what needs to be done.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
