Links to compression garments and binders

Recommended Posts

I'm scheduled for a lower body lift with fleur de lis /arms/ thighs next month. Can anyone please send me some pics and/or links to the abdominal binders and compression garments they've used and liked? There are so many choices! Very confusing! Thank you!

I had skin removal surgery years ago after loosing 140 lbs. They gave me a abdomen binder at the hospital.

They also gave me one after my bypass recently.

I also used the compression garments they gave me, for all of my plastics. You will wake up wearing it.

My surgeon does not provide compression garments. I will wake up with the abdominal binder though and basically arms and thighs wrapped. I would like to buy another binder so that I can wash one. I will also be purchasing compression garments to wear after the drains are removed, etc.

The BariatricPal Store carries the Premium Abdominal binder for Bariatric and Plastic Surgery by Deroyal at https://store.bariatricpal.com/products/premium-abdominal-binder-for-bariatric-and-plastic-surgery-by-deroyal. I didn't use one after either of my weight loss surgeries. Still, patients tell me that it makes a HUGE difference.

You can always ask the surgeon if they will sell you an extra one. That way when you figure out how to adjust it just right the other one will be the same fit. You can always just call their office and see if that will be an issue but I can’t imagine it would be.

I am in a marena girdle right now. Great quality and fits much better than the one my surgeon gave me. I am taller with a long torso and I was having trouble getting one to cover all my areas of swelling. I bought mine used off of poshmark for a big savings. I got the one that has hooks and zippers up to braline and short length legs. I just ordered a second one so I don’t have to rush to wash this one each night. I had a fleur de lis, arm lift, and breast lift.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
