Hey. Maybe you should also bring some of those small packs of nuts to get some salt in since you may be sweating it all out.

Good idea since I am already having low BP probs!

Yea I remembered that from another post of yours. You should be able to find Gatorade there if you have an issue sneaking in the peanuts but I say if your gonna have calories it may as well be Protein if it can.

I agree, plus I am not a huge gatorade fan. But will drink it if needed.

I think that in such cases you need to forget about the fact that it is a little expensive as you think because you are on vacation. In addition, there are a lot of places at a normal price and with a good choice of food.

I'm on vacation with family and struggling. I've lost nearly 100 pounds since my surgery in June. Meals are costing way too much on this trip!! The touristy areas will not accommodate my dietary needs. The portions are big and expensive and there leftovers are going to waste!!! I think I may start packing my lunch and dinner before we head out for the day? Thanks, I needed to talk through that.

If thr portions are large, ask if someone will share with you. Maybe you eat some of their protein/veggies and you buy them desert.

Maybe there is a kids meal that you can order or appetizer.

My husband likes to eat out, so I have been watching what I eat (my surgery is Oct 11th) and giving him more than half of my food or taking it home. I order steamed veggies as a side or a salad. I'm sure things will change after surgery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
