Beka 0 Posted December 17, 2007 Need some advice. I have been looking through my food diary and looking at when I was losing well and consistently. I am getting very frustrated about how slowly my weight is dropping especially when a month or so ago I was a 1kg - 1.5kg a week. Anyway what I found it that when I was losing the best amount of weight I was eating around 1400 calories a day (The weight loss site I belong to put me on 1580cal for weight loss so just dropped a bit from there). I have dropped my calories in the last month to 1200 because I thought that this is the aim with having the band. But since I have done that I have been a)hungrier (SP?) - can't get fill because found didn't handle last one well and had to have a slight unfill and b)losing weight a lot slower. So do you think that I should try going back to what worked last time or I should just stick at the lower calories in the hopes my body will catch up? I am starting to see some evidence of 'starvation mode' maybe? Bex )
Crishell 0 Posted December 17, 2007 I wonder the same about myself but I have been afraid to increase my calories to that much on a consistant basis. My average is 1000-1100 per day. I am confused. I thought I was not eating enough to offset my exercise but decided to re-evaluate my Protein. I upped my protein to ensure 60g+everyday. I noticed that I had some occasions, of 2 or 3 consecutive days out of a given week, where I had less than 60g . This was evidently effecting my metabolism and slowing it down. When I became more aware of my protein & increased it a little, I lost 6 pounds in 9 days. Just really started this so not sure how long it will hold up.
