Has anyone tried or use daily Oats Overnight? It looks interesting but does have some sugars and carb.. Good with Protein though.

Great!

I am asking about a specific company named "Oats Overnight". But thank you for your response.

Being a low processed whole grain, oats are usually considered an ok addition to your diet (good carbs & fibre) but check with your dietician. I was allowed instant rolled oats in purée & then transitioned to traditional oats in solid foods.

The added sugar content in Oats Overnight would bother me: the amount & it would’ve tasted too sweet to me then & now. As Lisa was suggesting, traditional oats you prep yourself would probably be a better option as you’re controlling the ingredients . I have them every day, add a dessertspoon of mixed seeds & blueberries. Because I make it on milk I get about 15g of Protein & no added sugar (the naturally occurring sugar in the milk & fruit doesn’t count & provides ample sweetness). It takes a couple of minutes to cook in the microwave. If you want more protein, add some Protein Powder.

Traditional oats can be prepped in the fridge in the exact same way as the Oats Overnight if it was the ‘convenience’ of the product that appealed.

I wouldn't go the route of ordering them from a pouch. They're overpriced imo. I'd make them myself at home, so that I could customize the flavors to my liking. You can find a ton of recipes online, tips and suggestions.

Best wishes!

I haven’t tried them but if you like the sweetness of that brand you could always add a little Splenda to regular oats (if you do artificial sweeteners).

Rather than buying he premade, it's easy to make your own. Just old fashion oats in a dish/jar overnight. You can use Protein powder to flavor it. to skip the sugar.

Oats aren't something I eat very often, and I've never tried overnight oats, but when I do eat oats, I like the steel cut variety. When my son lived at home still, I used to make a huge batch on the weekend that I could just warm up for him each morning. Just toast them in a little butter or cooking spray to get a toasty flavor, then add milk and Water and whatever spices you like. I used cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla and added Stevia to taste.

I did find an easy overnight steel cut recipe, if anyone is interested.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
