Anyone one step 4 diet

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, I have a question that I hate to ask but is there anyone that has experienced at least the step three or four diet that still takes super small bites and waits minutes in between each one or will I eventually be able to eat bigger bites? I have this fear that I might bite off more than I can chew literally when I’m able to eat solid foods and would love some feedback! Thanks I’m advance

yes, you'll eventually be able to eat bigger bites. Once you're a few months out, no one is going to suspect you had WLS. The only thing they may notice is that you eat smaller portions - but they'll probably just assume you're a light eater. You won't be taking microscopic bites at the time - or eating microscopic portions. This is really just the few months.

As @catwoman7 said, yes, eventually. Your calories will increase, your portion size will increase, you’ll need less time between bites, how much time you need between eating & drinking will decrease, etc. Just progress as you are able. Don’t push yourself to do more than you can. Listen to your body & how it reacts. It will soon tell you if it’s no, not yet.

Will you go back to doing these things exactly the same as you did before? No. But that’s a good thing. Think of this time as learning what is best for you & the healthier, happier, smaller you.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
