Dry round patches on body post op.

Recommended Posts

Hey, has anyone experienced round dry Patches all over the body? I’ve placed all kinds of ointment on the. I’m wondering if this is a side effect of the survey or something? I’ve made an appointment to see a doctor but it’ll take TWO WEEKS before I can get in.

My skin has been exceptionally dry. I think it's from dehydration, which makes sense because I'm sure I don't yet drink enough. I'm hoping that's all it is for you!

My legs are super dry and I haven't been hitting my Water goals either. I'm going to try to step up my water intake to see if that helps!

I have always had super dry skin, especially in the winter. I will get dry spots. I always drink plenty of Water and use PRESCRIPTION lotions too.

But, since surgery I have had a quarter sized dry spot right in the middle of my back that I can't get to go away. I don't know how it would be from surgery but it is weird that it happened all at the same time. I showed my doctor last time I was there, he confirmed it is just dry skin and to keep applying the lotion to it.

Usually they go away but this one has been there for 5 months now..🤷‍♀️

So, I have a random weird itchy spot near my back, has been there for years now. Same spot, doesn't always itch but it flares up periodically. The dermatologist said it is something that happens, more commonly in women. It is harmless, and I wish I could remember what she called it. Googling isn't a big help, but I think it might be this one: notalgia paresthetica. You might want to ask a dermatologist at some point, but again she wasn't concerned.

eczema ? sometimes during body stress like rapid weight loss the immune system can trigger eczema or atypical dermatitis… i have used oatmeal powdered in a food processor and mixed with shaved ivory soap (reformed into bars with a little water) for relief before when i have gotten Patches

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
