Candigrl1 152 Posted August 22, 2022 Umm yea so what happens when your Ferritin levels are too high? Do they have you stop taking your Vitamins? Mine is at 583 ng/mL. Test results say this is the standard range 3 - 126 ng/mL
Sleeve_Me_Alone 656 Posted August 22, 2022 If you are taking a multi with Iron, they will likely have you switch to one without. They may also want to evaluate your diet (too much red meat? too many leafy greens?), other health factors, and possibly do additional testing to find out why its so high. catwoman7 11,220 Posted August 22, 2022 that happened to me once. They just had me cut back on my Iron supplements.
ShoppGirl 5,004 Posted August 22, 2022 They make bariatric Multivitamins without Iron. Most companies make them. I take Pro Care health with iron but I know they make one without as well as one with a lower amount of iron.
Arabesque 7,414 Posted August 23, 2022 Speak to your doctor but dropping the Iron supplements are the most obvious response. Is this something new or pre existing? What were your iron levels in your pre surgery blood work? Are high iron levels in your family? Hemochromatosis is a genetic condition & regular blood donations can easily help maintain your iron levels. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/hemochromatosis/symptoms-causes/syc-20351443
NovaLuna 710 Posted August 23, 2022 My Iron was too high as well and I was taking 3 multi's with iron and now I only take 1 with iron and two without. It'll take a while to figure out the regimen that works for you, so just work with your doctor and get their advice on what they want you to try.
