tx2az 54 Posted August 18, 2022 Has anyone been told they will use a compression garment after Sleeve surgery? I asked my dr nurse and she said the dr would decide after my surgery. 1 KimA-GA reacted to this
The Greater Fool 2,054 Posted August 18, 2022 (edited) Your medical team's answer, actually, is the only answer that matters. What we say, as you know, strangers on the internet, should not matter to you at all. But, you do you, I guess. Good luck, Tek Edited August 18, 2022 by The Greater Fool forgot damned possessive pronoun '. Go figure. 2 tx2az and KimA-GA reacted to this
LookingForward22 320 Posted August 19, 2022 I woke up with one on and it’s been very helpful and at times annoying & irritating. If your team doesn’t recommend one and you feel like maybe you want to wear one, ask them why they aren’t recommending one. They may have a very good reason for it and following your teams plan is always best. Best of luck! 2 tx2az and KimA-GA reacted to this
ShoppGirl 5,009 Posted August 19, 2022 I woke up from surgery with a stomach binder on. I was told that it was for my comfort and I could remove it or put it back on as desired. I didn’t have a lot of pain post op and I took it off when I got home from hospital and didn’t notice a big difference but have heard people on here say it helped them a great deal. They do sell them on Amazon but I agree with above post that you should probably ask your surgeon first. 2 KimA-GA and tx2az reacted to this
catwoman7 11,220 Posted August 19, 2022 I had one after plastic surgery, but not bariatric surgery.
kcuster83 1,504 Posted August 19, 2022 I was given one in the hospital but it was more annoying than helpful so I never used it.
St77 87 Posted August 19, 2022 My team didn't suggest it one way or another, but when my sister had her surgery (gastric bypass), she swore it was a life saver. I asked a nurse when I was in the hospital if I could wear one and she was more than happy to give one to me. It was helpful for me, but everyone is different. tx2az 54 Posted August 19, 2022 Thanks everyone for your responses. Definitely following whatever my dr says. There are so many varied requirements by doctors for before and after surgery, especially the pre-op diet that I have read on here. Not comparing, just wondering. 1 LookingForward22 reacted to this
