Jesse Liberty 24 Posted August 14, 2022 I'm 2 days post gastric sleeve bypass. Eating/drinking hurt so much that I had to stay in the hospital an extra day. Today is better with very small sips, but if I forget and take a "normal" sip it still hurts. I'm assuming this will stop, but you are 12 days and still feeling it. Have you talked with your Dr. about it? 1 Only Me reacted to this

SleeveToBypass2023 2,660 Posted August 15, 2022 I was in pain the first 16 days after surgery. You shouldn't be eating anything at this stage, and you should try drinking warm liquids. I found that helped A LOT. 1 Only Me reacted to this

I was given the choice of Soup or custard in the hospital the day after surgery. I wasn't able to manage it but the lady in the next room did 2 SleeveToBypass2023 and Only Me reacted to this
SkinnyMingo1408 357 Posted August 15, 2022 food varies for everyone. I would try 1oz of liquid and drink 15 minutes apart... time yourself if you need to. And like @SleeveDiva2022said try warm liquids. Also a heating pad on and off every 20 minutes may help by shooting any inflammation you have going on. Sorry your going through this! 2 Only Me and SleeveToBypass2023 reacted to this

ShoppGirl 5,023 Posted August 16, 2022 Yea. I was told that if I had issues at any stage it may be helpful to return to the previous stage. Maybe you still have a lot of inflammation and should just stick to liquids for now. 1 Only Me reacted to this

Jesse Liberty 24 Posted August 19, 2022 I had a miserable time the first day (had to stay over in hospital a second night) and a hard time the second day, but then it got much better. My feeling, if this isn't going away by tomorrow, call your Dr.
me new self 0 Posted August 22, 2022 My surgery was 8/3, week one post op I had a weight loss of 16 lbs. second week I was down another 1.3… making it a total of 17.3. Weighed today & I’m up 2 lbs…. Talk about discouraging… has this happened to anyone else?
Jesse Liberty 24 Posted August 22, 2022 You lost 16# in one week?? That's amazing. Losing weight is non-linear, you should expect some ups and downs.
summerseeker 2,247 Posted August 22, 2022 Yes it happens all the time. Trust the process, do what your team says and stay off the scales. Easier said than done i know. Read the back pages on here of the 3 week stall
SkinnyMingo1408 357 Posted August 22, 2022 You'll get told again and again that weightloss is up and down. The ups suck but the great thing about the surgery is the downs are coming back!
