What time frame did y'all hit the dreaded stalls? My first was at 3 weeks. I'm at 15 weeks now and trying to see if I'm in a stall or doing something wrong.

Just about everyone hit a 3 week stall, after that there is no rhyme or reason from what I can tell. Everyone just stalls when their body needs time to readjust. I am just about 5 months post op and the only stall I saw so far was at 3 weeks.

almost everyone has their first one within the first month or so after surgery. After that, it's really an individual thing. If you're sticking to your program and the scale isn't budging, then yes - you're probably in a stall. Just keep on sticking to your program and stay off the scale for a few days. It'll eventually break and you'll be on your way again...

i hit one at 3 weeks. Then again at 3 months which that one lasted almost the entire month. That month i only lost i think 5lb or so. you will continue to have them along your journey.

I'm a slow loser. I've been told it's because my BMI is on the lower end. So after my 3 week stall I only lose 1lb a week. I have not lost anything for almost 3 weeks now. So I guess I'll go back to my liquid diet and see if that helps.

So i was going to do that. go back on a liquid diet then my nutritionist said no. That i need stability in my diet to loose weight. that changing from this many calories to less or more can cause you to gain weight.but yea if your BMI was lower then you will loose weight slower. I know i am out of my stall because the previous 30 days i only lost around 5-6lb. and recently after 1 week i lost 5lb.

I hit my first at 2 1/2 weeks and my 2nd at 3 months. They are normal, they suck, and they will (unfortunately) keep happening, especially the further out you get from your surgery and the closer you get to your goal weight.

I think I might be a close runner up to Queen of the Stalls. LOL we will see.

I had my first stall two weeks after surgery that lasted about two weeks. I have since then had one every month since surgery. They usually last up to two weeks with the main one lasting 3 weeks. This last one is still going on. Meh It will drop eventually.

I don't think most Drs believe in the stalls. I'm so dreading my next weigh in. 🥴

I really wish more doctors and Nutritionist would give more detailed info on stalls. Mine only gave us a paper saying stall will happen with a pic of a staircase. I would think this board would see a lot less posts on stalls if they only explained it better.

My stall came at 3 weeks and lasted a full 5 weeks!! I was about to pull my hair out over that one so I truly hope I dont have a second stall lol. I have been gradually losing 2-4 lbs a week once the stall passed. So I am on average right now with my monthly weight loss according to my team and others in here as well. I take what I get as long as its weight loss and no weight gain. Every number gone is a win for me.

I just had my surgery on 8/17... First week I lost 10 lbs. after losing 22 in the month pre-op. But now I am stuck, I feel like it might be due to My period coming this week... But it is annoying and frustrating.

I was in my second week (today is day 1 of week 3) and I’m seemingly in a stall.

I had been loosing up to my liquid diet (small amounts). Lost about 10 (despite starting my period the night before surgery) in the pre-op liquid diet. Then I lost 23 pounds my first week. Once I started purées I found it harder to make protein/calorie/water goals and I hit a stall. So I’m hoping that I can get out of that stall soon.

I hear the first month is the biggest loss and the first 3 months are when you see your most progress so hopefully I will get back on track soon.

Just don't give the stalls any thought at all. I stressed through them and drove myself crazy since my surgery exactly one year ago today. I managed to lose over 110 pounds. I am currently in a two month stall and it is not bothering me...I am sticking to my routine, getting my Protein and Water, doing my exercise and it will eventually pass. Or maybe my body is at the weight it intends to be at...which is fine. But you will being losing again if you are not at target, just make sure you are sticking to your calorie, water, protein and exercise plan.

Same! Had my surgery on the 17th as well. Lost 10 then started my period the next week and now I'm stalled but it seems common. I've been told repeatedly (even by my dr) not to get to wrapped up about them.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
