IrishKatieKat 30 Posted August 10, 2022 I'm had bypass April 15th and eggs use to be my favorite go to Protein. I've tried eggs over the stove using different healthy butter alternatives, trying scrambled, fried, and boiled. Everytime I'm in the bathroom within minutes. Frozen Atkins egg meals are a lil easier but barely. I still get nauseated but I don't puke them up like fresh eggs. Anyone else have this issue?Sent from my SM-G973U1 using BariatricPal mobile app 1 summerseeker reacted to this
Healthy4longerlife 14 Posted August 10, 2022 I had bypass on Dec 7th (8 MONTHS AGO) I still dont do well with eggs and stay away. I dont end up in the bathroom from anything I eat. Meaning it effects me differently. For me I feel really uncomfortable stomach pain. Eggs still hurt so I stay away, maybe 1-2 bites like 1 a month, but it sucks. Since its such an easy Protein to eat. well not now for me, lol. All Proteins i need to chew and take a few minutes in between bites if I dont want any pain. Good luck!! The Greater Fool 2,054 Posted August 10, 2022 Early on I recall eggs being just too hard on my stomach and just stayed away from them. Eventually my stomach started giving me the message to go forth and egg and things worked out well. I'm mostly a scrambles egg / omelet sort of guy. It was a while before I could get past one egg but even now two is pushing it. As times moves on food tolerances have moved into a more rational range than early post-op. Good luck, Tek
catwoman7 11,220 Posted August 11, 2022 lots of people have trouble with eggs after WLS. For many, it's just temporary. 1 Tomo reacted to this
SkinnyMingo1408 357 Posted August 13, 2022 eggs are my go to. Every morning I have 1 scrambled egg and an applesauce cup. Been that way for at least 4 weeks. I don't know how else I would've survived! 1 IrishKatieKat reacted to this

Tried eggs as my first "soft food", had a horrible experience...but I tried them again 3-4 months out and it was fine! 1 learn2cook reacted to this
Tufflaw 465 Posted August 19, 2022 Ugh that sucks. Luckily eggs don't affect me at all, I actually have two scrambled eggs with shredded cheese every single morning since the first day home from surgery. The only thing that tastes different to me is certain types of spicy stuff, some of my old favorites just taste yucky now. Have you tried egg salad? After surgery when I was in the soft food phase my wife made me homemade egg salad pretty regularly and it was my favorite out of all the salads I was eating (tuna, chicken, turkey). IrishKatieKat 30 Posted August 19, 2022 If I go extremely slow, I mean a bite every few minutes I can get down 1 egg. I've had Bypass. I know many people with just the sleeve and they were fine, but I wanted some other Bypass peeps to share their egg stories.Sent from my SM-G973U1 using BariatricPal mobile app
Bettyboop56 33 Posted December 28, 2022 9 wks bypass. I haven't had an issue with eggs. I scrambled them or microwave scrambled. Microwaved with dry powdered milk it is like a souffle. I add onions or chives, little cheese, precooked turkey bacon or sausage. But I haven't had problems with any food I've tried. At 6 months I'll trial Pasta rice bread. learn2cook 588 Posted December 28, 2022 I had bypass and hiatal hernia surgery. It took me about 7 months before eggs were ok, I think it was due to dealing with healing. Everything is fine now, no problems.

Sent from my SM-G973U1 using BariatricPal mobile app Yesterday I had my first postop check-up with my doctor…so I am post op day 12 duodenal switch. I had never had nausea EVER since surgery, so my doctor said I could have scrambled egg. I was so excited. My husband made me a scrambled egg that night. I had nausea and threw up after never having nausea this entire time. So now, I am going to stay on liquid diet (phase 2) longer…😩
