Yes I do drink lots of Water - I love Lemon-Lime Crystal Light and drink at least 4-5 bottles of Water a day.

I had another fill today so I'm sticking to liquids tomorrow but after that I'm going to try eating low-carb. My fill doctor also suggested I follow a modified Atkins plan.

I'll be sure to follow-up next week and let you all know if it's working.

Oh geez - Does this mean no mashed potatoes on Christmas??? I love mashed potatoes and gravy, and stuffing, and pie, sigh....

Not sure, I think it depends. I'm a mega carb addict, if I eat a little I am toast for the rest of the day. I'm hungry and turn into a big fat couch slug. It takes me about three days to get back into the swing of things.

If you are like that I would suggest staying away from the potatoes, etc. However, if you are a person that can eat it today and not struggle to stop eating it tomorrow I would say go for it.

We aren't on a diet here, we are struggling to eat like normal people. Normal people eat mashed potatoes, dressing, etc. on holidays. If you can eat it for one day and go back to better food choices the next day then have at it. My opinion only.

I agree Wasabb - this is not a diet - the is a lifetime lifestyle change of bad eating habits - What I strive for is to eat healthy 98% of the time and IMHO that is what healthy thin people do - In the past we ate UNHEATHLY 98% of the time - this is what got up to where we are - so ya - have a treat eat some mash potatoes - gravy - and not the whole pot just 1 serving and the next day go back to good healthy food choices

You may not be eating ENOUGH! believe it or not. My body doesn't lose unless I eat 1500-1600 calories.

Also try eating a heartier Breakfast to jump start the metabolism and eat small Snacks in between meals to keep the fuel going throughout the day. Bump up the exercise as you can and surely you will start losing.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
