Gucci73 15 Posted August 1, 2022 I’m so jealous of those who have only a couple of weeks/days until surgery. I wish I was there. I have probably another 6 months. 😵💫 3 1 jenuinelygenuinely, Softtacocrumbs, Summermoose and 1 other reacted to this

You got this! 1 Gucci73 reacted to this

I felt like I was just leaving the dr to turn around and have another appointment and before I knew it, it was surgery day. Just focus on making positive changes and identifying triggers now and it will help later on. You can do this! 2 Gucci73 and jenuinelygenuinely reacted to this

I’ve started a blog, reading lots of books on eating disordered thinking, brain training.

I remember that I wanted the surgery yesterday. It will fly by though as you prep up for it. Lots of boring hoops to jump through. Congrats and look forward to your success! catwoman7 11,220 Posted August 2, 2022 it does go by fast. Spend time online on this and other bariatric forums, reading everything you can. I did this to pass the time, and by the time my surgery rolled around, I felt I was very prepared for it... 1 summerseeker reacted to this
heartofmercury 186 Posted August 2, 2022 I’m so jealous of those who have only a couple of weeks/days until surgery. I wish I was there. I have probably another 6 months. [emoji43][emoji94]I knew I wanted the surgery the moment I booked my first consultation in April. I've been so stir-crazy and anxious. I'm 38 and have been overweight for about 30 of those years. Someone else mentioned to do all the research you can while waiting and I wholeheartedly agree. It gives you something to look forward to and knowing more makes it less scary. ShoppGirl 5,004 Posted August 2, 2022 Yea it goes by faster than you think. There is actually quite a bit to learn if you want to be well prepared in advance so hang out here and ask lots of questions.
SpartanMaker 894 Posted August 3, 2022 I know how you feel! Right now it's about all I can think about since after 2.5 years of trying to get this done, I finally have a surgery date.
learn2cook 588 Posted August 4, 2022 I used that wait time to loose weight and develop hobbies so that the actual surgery would “lock in” that pre-surgical weight loss. Maybe it’s just magical thinking, or not, but it worked so far. I ended up waiting 11 months to have surgery from meeting my surgeon. You’ve got this!
