So i am on a Cpap machine since last summer. I dont have another appointment with that type of doctor for a while. But so far after surgery i have not really needed it. Before i really needed it to sleep but for the last month or so i been doing fine without it. sleeping well. Not snoring. so hopefully i can get another sleep study done and see if i actually still need it. But i still use it but some days i forget to use it and have no issues that i know of

I found out I had borderline sleep apnea when I had a sleep study before surgery. I opted not to get a CPAP when the PA at my clinic said it'd likely be gone after I lost 20 or 30 lbs. He was right - it was gone. I can't speak for those with more severe apnea, but I know it does improve or goes away for many of us.

My sleep apnea disappeared completely within the first few weeks. I started at low BMI (35). I haven't slept so well in years.

I had sleep apnea before I had my Lap Band surgery. I was on bipap. I was off my machine within a few weeks, maybe 8 if I remember correctly.

I just had revision surgery to bypass 12 days ago and it was pretty cool, as a former sleep apnea patient, I was selected to be in a study about former sleep apnea patients and the effects of anesthesia on them. So I had to wear some electrodes from the moment anesthesia ended for 24 hours. The anesthesiologist heading up the study said I definitely still do not have sleep apnea according to their readings.

I have central, not obstructive, sleep apnea so, no, having the surgery and getting down to a “normal” BMI did not have any effect on the sleep apnea ☹️

My sleep study revealed mixed sleep apnea. Though I know that morbid obesity or greater can cause a type of central sleep apnea that can sometimes resolve with weight loss - so I am hoping to get off my nighttime torture device ;) (but my stick thin Grandpa had to use one, so know it might just be what I gotta live with)

I had severe sleep apnea but didn't get the CPAP since it was within a month of surgery. Immediately after surgery, I haven't snored. This is the best sleep I've gotten in years. My husband jokes that he misses his white noise machine aka my snoring and it's too quiet to sleep.🤣

I never had a sleep study done but I can say before surgery I was up 2-3 times a night constantly waking up and having to go to the bathroom. Since surgery 3 months ago I have been sleeping the whole night, in fact I noticed a few weeks after surgery I wasnt waking up for whatever reasons anymore. Happy to say for me I am sleeping better after the weight loss I have.

I hope you will notice a big difference as well :)

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
